
Dr. Amanda Hickman
OPTOMETRIST
Dr. Hickman earned her Bachelor’s Degree in biology from the University of New Orleans in 2006. She earned her Doctor of Optometry Degree from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN in 2010 where she received training in ocular disease, primary care, pediatric eye care, contact lenses, and vision therapy.
She has extensive training in family eye care, including pediatric eye examination, contact lens fittings, ocular disease and surgical co-management.
She serves on the executive board of the Optometric Association of Louisiana and is a member of the American Optometric Association.
Dr. Hickman was awarded Louisiana's Young Optometrist of the year for 2017 by the Optometric Association of Louisiana.
She enjoys being active in the local community, and has been the clinical director and coordinator for Special Olympics Louisiana Opening Eyes program since 2012. Which provides free eye assessments, prescription eyewear, sunglasses and sports goggles to athletes with intellectual disabilities.
